Description
The Liu An Gua Pian Melon seed green tea is one of the most popular teas from China. The leaves are plump, round, mature and hand picked. Despite being a form of green tea, the Liu An Gua Pian has a sweet taste, with blends of spiciness and smokiness to add to its aura. The Liu An Gua Pian Melon seed green tea is obtained from the titular Liu An province. Found on the Qiyun mountain in the province, this tea comes in round leaves. The roundness is an obvious give away of the fact that this is a classic, hand made tea. The large and mature leaves alone of the Liu An Gua Pian are what make this tea what it is rather than its buds and stems. While this is a form of green tea, it possesses a distinctive character and composition that makes it one of the most special offerings of the province it calls home. The liquor of the tea has a bright emerald like hue and emits an interesting aroma that is an intriguing blend of sweetness and spiciness. The aroma also extends to the flavour of the tea, apart from an easily distinguishable smokiness. While it has the moniker of ‘melon seeds’ in its title, that is due to the shape and size of the tea leaves. Unlike most green teas, this tea is sweet and has made its way to being one of the most famous Chinese teas. * Tastes better if steeped using natural mineral water (ph8) *
