Sona Mahsuri/ Masoori is High yielding rice variety which is very popular. It is evolved from two popular rice varieties sona and Mahsuri. Sona is Superfine grain. Mahsuri is medium tall with short fine grains and very tasty. By crossing these two, sona mahsuri is developed. Both these varieties are themselves high yielding. Sona masoori rice (or Sona Mahsuri) is a medium-grain white rice, sweet-smelling, lightweight, aromatic and low in starch bytewise organic Sona masoori rice grown organically, hence these products are natural and are free from any chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, toxic substances, synthetic hormones and are certified according to international standards for organic production, processing, and packaging. Since they are grown naturally, it has rich nutritional values. Sona masoori rice is usually used in dishes like sweet Pongal, biryani, idlis, and fried rice.
