| Cooking Instructions | Heat a pan and add 1 cup of Jowar rawa, stir often while roasting the rawa and keep aside when done, In a pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil. Add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds along with 1 tsp chana Dal and 1 tsp urad dal. Add cashew nuts and fry till they turn into golden brown color, Now add the finely chopped onions, green chill, ginger, curry leaves. Saute for a minute, Add water and salt as required to this mixture . When the water comes to a boiling, lower the flames and add the rawa while stirring, Cover and allow the rawa upma to steam for 2 minutes on the low flame. Here the jowar rawa is cooked and the healthy upma is ready, Lastly add about 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with lime slices or lime pickle. (If desired, you may also add vegetables to the water while boiling for a healthier & Tastier upma.) |
