Description

As the name of the phone goes, the Nokia X3 Touch and Type is a touchscreen handset with a keypad underneath. The mobile phone runs on the Symbian Series 40 software platform. Operating in both 2G and 3G networks, the X3 comes with preloaded Opera Mini browser to allow seamless Web browsing. The display of the X3 Touch and Type is a 2.4-inch resistive touchscreen with 240 x 320 resolution. A resistive touchscreen is made of 3 layers and requires you to put pressure on it to sense the area of touch. The resistive touchscreen works with any pointing devices like stylus, pen, or even nail. The use of pointing device makes the touch screen usage more accurate. The slim and lightweight Nokia phone weighs just 78 g along with the battery and measures 106.2 x 48.4 x 9.6 mm. The Nokia X3 has a 5 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom and self timer features. Video recording can be done either in QVGA mode (320 x 240) at up to 30 fps or in VGA mode (640 x 480) at up to 15 fps. The device has access to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube which lets you be in touch with your friends and share your world with them. Chatting on the go will no more be a problem with the Nokia X3, as it incorporates various chat services like Windows Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi Chat. Battery and Storage The battery used in this Touch and Type phone is a standard 860 mAh Li-Ion that serves talk time of 5 hours in 2G and 3.5 hours in 3G network. The device has music and video playback time of 25 hours and 6.8 hours, respectively. The phone lets you store detailed information of all your contacts along with personalization of favorite contacts on the home screen. This Nokia handset ships with 50 MB of internal memory. You can expand the storage in the phone by up to 16 GB using a microSD card. The X3 Touch and Type has Hot Swappable feature that lets you swap the memory card without switching off the phone. Multimedia The mobile phone has a Music Player with metadata ID3 tag feature that stores information like title, artist, album etc in the file, which helps in organizing your music in a better way. The audio formats supported by the Player include MP3, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA. Other multimedia features included in the Nokia handset are Stereo FM Radio, Video Player and preloaded Games. The supported video formats include MPEG-4, H.263, H.264 and 3GP. You also have the option of downloading more games of your choice from the Ovi Store. Connectivity and Features You can connect to the Internet on the Nokia X3 through GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth, microUSB, charger connector and a 3.5 mm AV connector are the connectivity options available in this phone. The X3 Touch and Type also has the option of USB charging, in case you forget your charger. The Adobe FlashLite 3.0 present in the Nokia handset lets you stream videos without any glitch and also allows Flash messaging. You can download several apps, wallpapers and ring tones via Ovi Store. The phone also supports Java MIDP 2.1 apps and Nokia Xpress audio messaging. Other regular features include voice recorder, converter, calculator, clock etc.
