Prunes are simply dried plums, just like raisins are dried grapes. More specifically, prunes are sun-dried plums that skipped the fermentation process. Prunes are rich in vitamin K and contain beta-carotene. Prunes can be added to smoothies or trail mixes to add to the fiber and antioxidant content. Eating prunes may help prevent bone loss and improve gut health and has been shown in multiple studies to help prevent from many other diseases.
