Stainless steel coffee filter is used as well to prepare decoction but in our experience, the taste is never the same! How does it work Kumbakonam Ilakiya Brass Filter is the two-piece cylindrical strainer made of brass that is used in the separation of the coffee elixir or decoction from the ground coffee powder. The strainer is usually made of a brass metal (or stainless steel) and it comes in small to large size. The top part acts as the holder of the coffee ground mix and the second cup acts like a strainer and it collects the coffee elixir. When hot water is poured onto the ground mixture, the strainer drains the elixir over time, and later it is used to make coffee. that’s why called as filter coffee.
